In partnership with the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) and with the support of Pennsylvania funders, this site offers high-quality, professional-grade legal resources designed to serve the day-to-day and strategic needs of nonprofits.

Why this clearinghouse exists
For nonprofit leaders, it can be very time-consuming and overhwelming to keep up with legal developments, to assess risk and make informed business decisions, and to get legal questions answered well (and quickly enough) to make efficient work of legal matters. When resources can be found, they tend to be too generic to be of much use, they can be confusing or misleading or they do not provide enough context to help nonprofits understand how to use them responsibly, causing more problems than they solve. They are also often not Pennsylvania-specific. High-quality, reliable legal resources for Pennsylvania nonprofits have long been in demand but have not been readily and consistently available in one easily accessible online location — and AI is not qualified for the job.
PAnonprofitlaw.org provides a solution to this problem. It’s a capacity-building project, designed specifically for Pennsylvania’s nonprofits. This clearinghouse educates and helps accelerate and elevate the legal work of Pennsylvania’s nonprofits by providing resources to the people who serve them.
PAnonprofitlaw.org accomplishes its mission by sharing knowledge and know-how with Pennsylvania’s nonprofits and the legal community serving Pennsylvania’s nonprofits, and by making high-quality, reliable legal educational resources and other supports more accessible in one central hub, so that Pennsylvania’s nonprofits are more informed about the legal matters they encounter, are better positioned to minimize risk and navigate complexity, and can more efficiently handle their legal matters.
